CONTRACTS FOR A400M CARGO HOLD TANKS AND ELECTRICAL HARNESSES FOR THE ESA BIOMASS MISSION SIGNED

On 30 January 2019, CEO Manuel Heredia Ortiz signed two contracts with Airbus, engaging Airbus Poland in the production of the A400M cargo hold tanks and harnesses to the Biomass satellite.

Based on the client’s documentation, Airbus Poland S.A. will produce cargo hold tanks to the A400M aircraft, which will increase its mission capabilities. The tanks will be tested for tightness in Poland, and later they will be delivered to Spain. Airbus Poland S.A. will produce 22 sets of such cargo hold tanks (each consisting of two tanks). Airbus Poland S.A. has thus extended its portfolio to include the sector of production of aircraft mission equipment.

The first delivery is planned for February 2020, while the whole project is expected to last until the end of 2029.

The second contract involves designing and producing harnesses for the “Prime” Airbus Defence and Space to the Biomass satellite. The objective of the Biomass mission is to „weigh” the quantity of trees on our planet, in order to improve the understanding of the carbon cycle and global warming. The satellite is currently being built under the auspices of Airbus Defence and Space and supervised by the ESA. This is the second large project to date performed by the CleanRoom, in which the so-called “space harnesses” for a satellite will be produced. The works on the project have already begun and will last until mid-2020.
