Production of PZL-130 Orlik – turboprop two-seat aircraft for military pilots training


Its the first version, PZL-130 TC I, has proven its effectiveness and excellent safety record, responding to the requirements for a basic trainer that enables basic piloting without visibility, aerial navigation and acrobatic. The Polish Air Force counts on 30 of these aircraft
PZL-130 TC II, designed in 2000, incorporates distinctive features from its predecessor (PZL-130 TC I): new wing with winglets and more powerful powerplant with the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-25C and 4-bladed Hartzell. A more reliable and durable aircraft that concludes in a lower cost per hour of training for the operator.

Project “Creating a prototype of an Orlik 3 training aircraft with an integrated avionic system”, contract No. UDA-POIG.01.04.00-14-053 / 10-00, co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund under the Innovative Economy Operational Program, 2007-2013 , Measure 1.4 “Support for target projects” (project value PLN 31 510 758.35, co-financing amount PLN 9 779 700.00)

The project consisted in creating, as a result of research and development, a prototype of a substantially improved product, which is the Orlik III training aircraft, equipped with the integrated synthetic and registration system Synthetic Cockpit. The plane is promoted as the Orlik MPT (Multi Purpose Trainer).

A number of technologies developed in the project “Creating a prototype of an Orlik III training plane with an integrated avionics system “was used in the modernization of the PZL-130 TCII aircraft, currently operated in the Polish Air Force, into the advanced form under contracts with the Ministry of National Defense:





The PZL-130 ORLIK TC-II basic and advanced packages are adaptable for the most correct and cost-effective transition within any Air Force training system.

For a training system based on one, two or three-steps syllabus, PZL-130 ORLIK TC-II fits more adequately within the scope of training from basic to advanced phases, while offering the highest cost effectiveness to the overall training system.

PZL-130 ORLIK TC-II is designed to create the appropriate experience from initial training phases, transition, instruments, formation, navigation to introduction for combat flights.
