JOHANNES VON THADDEN BECOMES THE NEW CEO OF AIRBUS POLAND

1 December 2020 Johannes von Thadden has been appointed the new President of the Management Board and the Managing Director of Airbus Poland S.A., a Polish subsidiary of Airbus Defence and Space. He will lead Airbus’ professional team of nearly 800 employees in one of Poland’s largest aerospace companies, including production, maintenance, repair and overhaul operations for Airbus fixed-wing military and civil aircraft, supervise the aviation services in the Mielec branch and supporting Poland’s space ambitions.

”Airbus has been partnering Poland for nearly 20 years now, developing its own industrial capabilities in Warsaw and creating a local supply chain of our Polish partners,” said Johannes von Thadden. “We look forward to further developing the effectiveness and skills of our engaged employees and exploring new markets to grow our aviation and space aspirations on the Polish market and into export.”

Johannes von Thadden has a long career within Airbus, driving business in France and in Germany and finally having been responsible for Airbus’ worldwide space business. In addition, he can draw from a long-lasting experience with Poland, e. g. as Co-Chairman of the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation (FWPN) in Warsaw and as Vice President of the Federal Association of German-Polish Associations. Johannes von Thadden, a native German, also speaks English and French, some Polish and Spanish. He is married to a Pole.

At Airbus Poland he replaces Manuel Heredia Ortiz who will take up a new function in Airbus Spain.
